Fit 2 Drive Medicals first day of sponsorship for Dave Wallbanks rally car was at the Brick and Steel Border Counties Rally in Jedburgh 2012
Dave Wallbank had spent months of preparation turning his Mk II Ford Escort into a very well presented rally car, from engine and undercarriage work to a complete respray.
This was the maiden voyage for, from what we understand as Daves ultimate rally car he has always wanted to race.
Dave knew he had to get used to the Mk II after his previous car being a Mitsubishi Evo, due to its different handling and technologies. Despite this Dave made it look easy and i would say 'bonded' with the new car instantly having it broadside and on the limiter round most of the stages.
The race went well all in all with a few minor issues which were sorted in between stages.
Since his first rally with Mk II the car has gone from strength to strength competing in numerous races across the northwest. Including the Grizedale Stages Rally, MEM Malton Forest Rally, Riponian Stages Rally and finally The Richard Burns Foundation Rally where Dave won his Class back in 2013
